Accountant strength tax management
With optimised CGT processing at its core, Powerwrap offers a suite of tools that makes it simple to maximise clients' after-tax returns.
Powerwrap takes tax free; tax deferred and distributed CGT income components into account when calculating CGT positions. To assist advisers to improve the after tax performance of client portfolios, Powerwrap uses a three phase CGT optimisation process:
Method Selection: When disposing a parcel acquired prior to 21st September 1999, there is a choice as to whether to use the discount or indexation method for calculating any gain. Powerwrap will automatically choose the most advantageous method.
Parcel Selection: Powerwrap provides a number of methods by which purchase lots can be allocated against sell transactions using specific parcel allocation; Minimise Gain; Maximise Gain; Manual Selection; and First In First Out. With the exception of Manual Selection, pre 1985 stock parcels are selected last so as to preserve any pre-CGT assets for clients.
Loss Optimisation: To allow planners to maximise the value for each dollar of loss, Powerwrap enables sequential loss offsetting and method selection switching.
